CONSULTING SERVICES

It is a passion of mine to explore the creative process - bouncing around narrative ideas, shaping story structure, developing visual language or one’s own voice. From working in news for over 15 years, churning out stories on a deadline, I’ve learned the rigor of telling a story quickly and efficiently. My transition into documentary filmmaking opened the door to a more expansive creative approach, allowing me to explore storytelling with greater depth, nuance, and artistic freedom. So much of what I’ve learned about my own creative practice has been from listening and watching films and filmmakers I love, figuring out how they work and how their films work. (Sometimes, I’ve found, it’s a bit of magic!) I’ve also had to learn (and am still learning) how to sustain the stamina that’s needed not just make the film, but to help it live out in the world. There’s a rhythm to filmmaking, and sustaining a creative practice means learning how to move with it.
